RoboticsRobotics utilizes Lego EV3 Mindstorm kits to engage students in the engineering field. Students are placed in teams and are challenged to overcome today's real world problems with the use of robotic creations.
We take a look at how robotics have changed certain industries and their benefits and consequences. We discuss how they are continuing to advance and how those advancements will change future industries. Students are filmed throughout the length of the course and receive a download link to their video to show off their accomplishments and what they have learned throughout the week. |
EV3 Bots
Ages 6 - 12
EV3 Bots focuses on how robotics help solve various disasters and industrial situations. From automated construction in the auto industry to natural disasters such as a collapsed building, students learn how robotics create an efficient and safe work environment that an individual could not venture.
Students will work in groups and will receive real life situations that they then must solve by constructing specific robots to meet the situations requirements. Students will fill out questionnaires, photograph their progress and then record a demonstration of their finished design.

Battle Bots
Ages 8 - 14
Battle Bots has students prepare for battle! Students form teams and go over a variety of simple fighters and from those templates create their robot fighter. For the following days afterwards students will have their robots spar against the other groups fighter bots.
Doing so will allow each group to determine what changes need to be made to their bot or strategies. After the changes have been finalized by their groups, the last day will be all out battle bot warfare. A tournament will be held and the last robot standing wins it for their group. So get ready to rumble and let the best robot win!
